1. Develop an arts integration plan that aligns with established school improvement plan goals each year. 2. Pool existing resources within schools and the school district for more efficient use of materials, expertise, time, and space. 3. Construct a cooperative framework for financing curricular needs that reduces amount of time each individual must spend gathering many resources for one program.
4. Expand on existing and new relationships with cultural partners for a more dynamic, sustained whole-child education community.
5. Generate measurable benchmarks to assess progress and evaluate needs within each school and across the Syracuse City School District.

Syracuse is reaching for creative economy leadership and seeking opportunities for communication and collaboration. Three communities have ongoing participation in the creative dialogue around Arts in Mind: Syracuse City School District, local cultural organizations, and funders.
Working together, we aim to establish one central, ongoing fund for the arts in education, making it possible to implement consistent tools for requesting, providing, and measuring services that bring high-quality arts to students throughout the district.

Goals for Schools: - to have the ability to research and develop a calendar of arts-based experiences in all three levels of arts-based education - access, alignment, and integration (read more) - from which all students in the school benefit annually, along with support in lesson planning, professional development, and assessment.
- to streamline the funding application process, limiting the pressure on faculty and administration so teachers can focus on curriculum
- to make sure each child has a range of opportunities in all areas of the arts
Goals for Cultural Organizations: - to strengthen the educational component of their programming and serve greater numbers of schools and students, while developing a deeper connection with community through these programs
- to be able to project budget and needs more effectively in serving the SCSD with quality programming
- to sustain relationships with schools with whom they are already involved in effective partnerships
Goals for Funders: - to develop greater effectiveness for funding programs in schools and cultural organizations that strengthen these partners
- to provide a way to assess the impact of the dollars invested in any given school or cultural organization.
